According to a recent bloomberg.com article, private negotiations are supposedly in place discussing the 3rd largest logistics industry deal of 2015. During this period of industry consolidation and increasing consumer demand there have been reported talks of a UPS buy out of Coyote Logistics for $1.8 Billion.
Warburg Pincus, a private equity firm, has backed Coyote since 2007, and while representatives from neither Warburg Pincus or UPS will comment on the buyout, private sources can confirm discussions are taking place.
If the Coyote buyout does occur “Coyote said in a statement that the combined company would be one of the biggest third-party logistics providers in North America, with run rate revenue of more than $2 billion, 17 locations and about 1,750 employees.”
Is this buyout breaking news in the logistics industry or just another rumor? Time will tell.
