Our friends at OEC Group have shared the following General Rate Increase information with us, so we wanted to be sure to pass on this very valuable information to you as quickly as possible.

Effective September 1, 2019, a General Rate Increase (GRI) has been filed for ALL cargo imported from Asia ports of loading to the USA, Canada, and Mexico ports and ramps of discharge.  As you can see from the dollar amounts of these increases, they are pretty significant and shippers would be wise to budget for these increases now.

The proposed increases are as follows:

General Rate Increase – September 1, 2019

USD         900 / 20′

USD      1,000 / 40′

USD      1,125 / 40′ HQ

USD      1,125 / 40′ Reefer

USD      1,266 / 45′

USD      1,600 / 53′

Since it is not possible to predict the future market based on the current trade conditions, we will continue to monitor the situation as it develops.  Should there be any further developments relating to the impact of these increases, we will be sure to let you know.
