Are delays easing up at West Coast Ports as shippers have rerouted shipments to East Coast Ports, or do the recent bottlenecks still sting?
Perry Ellis International states that it lost est. $23 million in missed sales due to port congestion. Whereas the company was receiving over 35% of its shipments via West Coast Ports, it now receives 15% there.
The company Pacific Sunwear also reports delays that “slowed the shipment of inventory of about 30%” of their inventory, according to JOC.com.
How long will the effects impact retailers and ports in the coming quarters? What will the net impact be on customers?
