ICC’s Tony Nuzio will be a panelist for this upcoming conference. The session Tony will be participating in is titled “Law of the Land, Law of the Jungle.” This will be a continuation of the ever popular annual session where “Lawyers Explain the Law, and Businessmen Tell it Like it is.”
The Moderator is Gerald Smith, Esq. from the Law Firm of Pezold, Hirschmann and Selvaggio, LLC. The panel will consist of three attorneys and three businessmen, which Tony is one of. The following topics have been identified for discussion:
• Vetting of Motor Carriers: Shipper and Broker Duties
• Measure of Damages regarding Claims for Freight Loss and Damage Claims
• Concealed Damage Claim Filing and Collection Issues
• Frequently Contested Issues in Transportation Contract Negotiations (this topic will be covered in depth)
• Limitation of Liability Relating to Freight Loss and Damage Claims
• Does Placing a Pro Sticker on a Bill of Lading, Packing Slip, or Manifest Bind the Shipper to the Terms and Conditions in the Pro Sticker?
The above topics will be presented to the audience. The Legal members of the panel will discuss the legal aspects of each topic and the businessmen will explain what their clients have experienced or are concerned about. The session is 90 minutes long.
