UPS just announced that they are giving more customers the ability to pick up their packages when they want, finding more ways to satisfy their diverse customer base. UPS is expanding their program called Access Point Smart Locker Package Pick-up Program. The locker delivery program was successfully tested in Chicago, IL and based on those positive results, UPS will be adding some 300 new locations in the following states: Illinois, New York, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Washington.

The service is expected to also be offered to retailers as an additional delivery option for their web based orders. With many Millennial household moms and dads both working full time jobs, this locker program is sure to be a great success. The program will also serve as a drop off location where packages can be dropped off for shipping or for returns to retailers. And, UPS expects to add “thousands” of locations to their locker network in the coming months.
