Effective October 25, 2020, UPS will be implementing new import surcharges for import shipments from China and Hong Kong to the US. Even though these surcharges are listed as “Peak Season” surcharges, UPS has advised that these surcharges will remain in effect “until further notice.” And, these surcharge increases come shortly after UPS lowered these surcharges back on October 4th.
UPS opted not to increase import surcharges on shipments from Australia, Indonesia, Malaysia, New Zealand, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan and Vietnam since those surcharges more than tripled back on August 30th.
The chart below indicates the current surcharge based on the level of service utilized, the new surcharges that become effective on October 25th as well as the percentage increase for each service.
